THE SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED.

Share your health concerns with Expatica and stand to win a voucher from Amazon.com worth EUR 100!

Expatica and Ruigrok / NetPanel are inviting expats to fill out a survey on the healthcare systems within various countries.

This survey, commissioned by a prominent health insurance company, aims to address how expats rate the healthcare system in their adopted land by comparison to that of their home countries.

It also hopes to understand the factors expats consider most important when they seek medical treatment and health insurance. Survey questions include:

• What kind of medical treatment would you choose to receive outside of the country you currently live in?

• How do you rate the healthcare system in your adopted country compared to your country of origin?

• Why would you rather be treated in another country in the event that you should fall ill and require hospitalisation?

Click here to fill out this short survey.

Six survey participants stand to win a voucher from Amazon.com worth EUR 100!
How has life abroad affected your finances and career?

Help us learn what expats think are the greatest challenges of managing work and personal finances abroad, especially during the recession.

Expatica and Ruigrok / NetPanel are inviting all expats to fill out a survey regarding the finance and labour markets in their current country of residence.

While one can read daily news about how economies around the world are sinking deeper into recession and affecting locals’ lives, information on how expats are coping is harder to come by. A short poll conducted by Expatica shows most expats have been affected by the financial crisis.

This survey hopes to address this through examining how expats have been affected by the global financial crisis, both professionally and financially. In addition, it will look at the differences and challenges foreigners might face in their careers upon moving abroad.

Survey questions include: “Have you changed your spending habits because of the global downturn?”, "To what extent are you positive or negative about your job prospects for the coming year?" and “Can you describe the ways in which working in your profession is different in your country of residence compared to your country of origin?”

The survey will run for two months and the results will be published in July.

Click here to fill out the survey. Survey participants stand to win a USD 25 Amazon.com voucher.

Excellent tool to discover the best restaurants in Brussels !

I just discovered RestoPass and I wanted to share this amazing concept with you ! It is an ideal tool for expats living in Brussels and looking for good restaurants!

RestoPass is a small little book (passport-sized) which gathers 30 survey-elected restaurants in Brussels (more than 1500 Brussels' residents elected those restaurants)

In addition to this amazing list, all your table is entitled to a 30% discount on the bill in each of the 30 restaurants (at the first visit) !

This is not a a trick, as the discount is valid 7/7, for lunch and dinner and you do not need to mention in advance that you have a RestoPass (just when requesting the bill)

In a nutshell, I already went to Nea Genia and La Manufacture, and my RestoPass is already paid back (it costs 35€ and the discount can go up to 50€ per visit !)

I ordered it online on www.restopass.com, and it was delivered in only 2 days !

Let me know if you have also tried it... I will go to "Le Pain et le Vin" tomorrow, it looks amazing !

Nico
