Hi all,

for a long time now I have been thinking and receiving feedback that the forum is confusing and could be structured better. Well (at long last) I have had the time to make some changes and so I took it. But what do you think?

Sounds dramatic but all I have done is make (or move) some forums into sub-forums of larger topics, making a richer hierarchy that I hope is more user friendly. Here is the order as it stands today:

Ok, I was away, now I am back, and I have messages from Tareshan 'demanding' I ban someone. I would like to ban her actually for her snide comments and attacks on posters she decides she doesnt like instantly. As CW has pointed out a number of times, the woman is insane.

But ok in this case it is Nikos driving it - who is he please? Obviously he is another poster with a new name. Is he banned yet? If not then he should be - Matt can you do it?

Also, how come I am getting notifications of PMs in my mail, but they are not in my PM inbox?

I don't know how long I can keep this up guys. Maybe just ranting might help. (I apologize in advance!)

As most of you know, I've been out of work for six months now...with no prospects. I even had an interview in London last week (only one of two people!) thanks to a dear friend who recommended me...and the other guy got the job. Lately, every job here that I'm told to expect an interview for falls through because the employer decides in the end to hire internally.

We're broke and I'm trying really freeeking hard to "keep my pecker up" (as Mom would say! )

Being a writer (in another life), this forum is one of my only outlets to do that and remind myself that I do have a brain, despite my inability to grasp Dutch and find a job.

But between self-centred posters who take all the good stuff they have for granted (stone) and others with a personal vendetta (tareshen Gawd! This has been going on for over a year!! When will she give UP???) , I'm at the point where I'm tempted to throw in the towel.

Sometimes this forum is like Buckley's Mixture...it leaves a crap taste in your mouth, and doesn't always cure what ails you. But you keep taking it because you keep telling yourself that you need it...

There. Just had to get that out. Thanks for reading. Back to the frontlines...

This may probably come to nothing, but since osita and wes questioned it, I thought I'd bring it up as something to keep an eye on.

Not sure whether Bigger Tree on the Dutch Culture forum is on the up and up, or what...He also created two other accounts under the same IP address on 23 May under the names lester biggot and leicester biggott.

He tried to explain his name, but still...I have a migraine and I'm grouchy.

Which also explains my little rant directed towards Tudor Geo on the legal forum. Tired of having everybody's responses second-guessed by this guy who thinks that no answer is a real answer unless it has an official website backing it up...He's just signed up to the buitenlandsepartners.nl forum recently and is started to question the moderators' and long-term members' responses to everything there as well...sigh...*rant over*

New RSS feeds and flood control

Hi all,

I have added some new RSS feeds to the forum as follows (in not particular order):

NL community noticeboard

BE community noticeboard

FR community noticeboard

DE community noticeboard

ES community noticeboard

CH community noticeboard

Also as a little extra security I have implemented a flood control on postings from users in the 'new members' and 'members' groups (so you guys are immune. It means that they will have to wait 30 secs before they can post again. I doubt that will be noticeable for a human user but a pesky spam bot will find it more of a nuisance .
