Is it just me, or was this year's pride parade even more pathetic than last year's hastily cobbled together shambles?

Where was the humour, the inventiveness, the irreverance, the political statements, the fun, the outrageousness?

I thought we gays & lesbians had more creativity than simply standing on a boat waving some rainbow flags wearing pink & playing Madonna? And how many boats thought that all they needed was one of the machines that blow a tube of air into the sky. I mean, what did the blow-up football have to do with gay pride?

Still, it was great to see how so many of our local banks are gay.

I've only been to the gay pride once since I moved here. I didn't think much of it to be honest, bit of a bore, pretty much the same stuff boat after boat and when it's over, getting crammed along/into tiny streets all squashed isn't my idea of fun, actually I hated it. :x I preffered the open spaces of London. The march was much more interesting and then the meeting in the park was great, but then they messed that up eventually so Brighton became the best.
I thought I read that last years Amsterdam pride was supposed to have been crap too. :?

I have a couple of friends (straight) that told me that Amsterdam Gay's Pride was better than Queen's Day.

Is this party day going to be better than Queen's Day!? Is the popularity of this part rising every year?

What do you think?
