Hey, I am moving to Belgium to my boyfriend soon, but we can`t find any houses where they allow dogs sad.gif we have only contacted companies that rent out for people, someone told us it`s easier if you contact the owner directly not go through a company?

I can`t move until we find something so It`s a frustrating situation..

Yes, it's easier if you contact directly the owner. When I moved they said that they wouldn't allow dogs, but I explained to them that my dogs are used to be inside and they know how to behave. I also said that I'm willing to pay any damage that they could cause. I also found easier to negociate with privatsthan with companies. They can be much more flexible. But be assured that you sign a contract and everything is legal!!!
You can find houses to rent in the free newspapers that they put in your mailbox. Or you can try www.easy.be
I've also heard about "de kopjes krant", I think they have a website.
I hope this helps a bit.

Hi there,

We moved to Brussels a year and an half ago. I did not mention the dog as I was talking to agencies for viewings and especially not before I had seen anything I liked. I think that 's the best way as some agencies will just say no without bothering asking the landlord/landlady who really is the one who as the final say. In our case, I asked the landlady and she was fine with it as she herself as a dog - she did ask the size of the dog though but that was all.
Good luck!
