Im soon going to discus cost of living allowances w/ my future employer. My Net salary after converting to euro will be about 30,000 euros or 2,500 euros a month.

I will be provided a company car/insuance but no housing allowance. What is a sufficient monthly income in euros for a 25/m to live quite comfortably (please detail if net/gross)? I do not have expensive habits like clothing, but do want to try and find a very safe, new, american friendly, and young area to live. I will want to go out if I meet people, but im more of a homebody and require a good gym. I will also want to earn enough so that I will have finds available to travel on weekends from time to time and I dont want to live month to month.

SO, again, ive got 2,500 euros/month to start, so how much more would cover me??

Thanks
Daenerys
a good rule of thumb for housing is a third of your gross income. so, at 2500/mo, you could afford 833/mo or less. check out http://www.immoweb.be (thank you themissus!) for properties in the area you're looking at and see if there's anything in that price range. if you see something that would work better, calculate it backwards to find out how much you'd need.
