Hi, I am hoping to move to Brussels hopefuly in the near future, in preparation I want to apply for a UK Citizenship, my mother and her father were both born and raised in scotland, and my Mother is still currently a UK citizen, I have heard that I may be eligible to become a citizen because of this. However, I have found nothing concrete, I have heard that only paternal citizenship matters and I have also heard that is not the case if you were born after jan 1st 1983, but I was born 3 months before that date. Any help on this would be much appreciated

P.S.
if not citizenship would it be easiere to obtain a work visa?
