Living in Belgium and married to a Belgium, I have the best of both worlds. Being an ex-pat and having my husbands culture to lean on means that it is not so bad to get around and find my feet.It was great to find that my residency went easy, unlike others that I read about on this site. We previously lived in the US and then returning to Belgium meant that we had to adapt to a different lifestyle and
a big culture shock but Belgium has its good points. We would love to make contact with other ex-pats, even though my husband is flemmish he misses the US lifestyle as much as I do and it would be nice to find like-minded friends. We lived in Alaska before we came back, strange to not see Moose anymore by our back yard!
We are currently in Aalst, not far from Brussels.

I've been working in Belgium since 1995, and moved hear to live in 2000. I too have a Belgian partner, but I'm a guy - lol. I work as a freelance mechanical design engineer. Since 1995 I've only worked six months i the UK, and three years in Germany - everything else here. Presently I'm working in Ieper.

We live in Kortrijk. I'm 42 and my partner 39. We have a son who was three a few weeks ago.

It would be nice to natter to a Brit every now and again. We are genuine and fun couple, not into transient friendship.
