So, does Hirsi get any brownie points for this from all you rabid lefties?
Of course I like Hirsi, but she is dead wrong on this one. Vlaams Belang´s reponse merely points up her inconsistency:
(Vlaams Belang Response)
"The points of view that the Flemish Interest takes today scarcely differ from those of yourself or [right-wing independent Dutch MP] Geert Wilders.
"Our proposals regarding family unification [migration], the shelter of asylum seekers in their own region and restricted access to social security are part of the platforms of the traditional parties or government policy in the Netherlands."
(Vanhecke also dismissed Hirsi Ali's statement comparing the Flemish Interest with the Hofstad group, Belgian newspaper 'De Standaard' reported.)
"We have never called for violence. We don't tinker bombs together, threaten politicians with death or plan assassinations. We only urge for a healthy understanding and a different immigration policy."

She wants Vlaams-blok/belang banned, the dead dutch politician Pim Fortuyn opposed Vlaams Blok as well.
You disagree with both, So that means you should come out of the closet and change your expatica alias from pim_fortuyn to adolf_hitler or mussolini or something.
Belgians don't need Dutch lessons on how to cook, eat, brew, drink or how to be a rabid left or right or anything else for that matter.

The only ones openly warning of the "islamisation" of Europe (as Pim did) are the Vlaams Belang. Like Pim, they are the targets of death threats, harrassment and government-sponsored persecution.
Vlaams Belang learned from Pim and will follow his model to enter government. Our best allies in this are the arrogant Muslims, who never miss an opportunity to show us their true colours.
One more time --
"We have never called for violence. We don't tinker bombs together, threaten politicians with death or plan assassinations. We only urge for a healthy understanding and a different immigration policy."
Who are the real (Islamo) fascists?

If you were truly up to date with Dutch politics (perhaps your are out of touch because of your untimely death), you would notice the the colaition Dutch government is openly anti-Islamic and prepared to fight against 'Islamisation'... Take a look at Verdonk for a start and then the legislation that has been adopted in the past 3-4 years and you will see that Pim's legacy is well and truly alive in the fascist Dutch government.

Wow, am I reading this right?
Did someone just compare a western democracy with totalitarian and communist regimes?
Furthermore, did you just imply that someone shouldn't use their right to free speech in a western country because you don't agree with their views?
It's so refreshing to see the George W-inspired phrase "Love it, or leave it. phrase migrating across the Atlantic.
Personally, I can't wait to watch the Vlaams Belang goose-stepping through Anderlecht.
