I am a student here in Brussels and was told by my university to go to the commune to get an Annexe 33. The commune refused to give me this document, as I did not come from one of the "pays limitrophes" stated in the Annexe. I insisted saying that I was ordered by my university to get this document. No good. Now, i've heard that a friend of mine who comes from a place very far away from these "pays limitrophes" and this friend was given an Annexe 33 without any problems in another commune. Seems like communes work differently.
Then they told me that I would need a residence permit. Oh joy, loads of paperwork. I wouldn't mind but I am only staying here until next Summer. Now, I've got this appointment coming up at the commune to present more documents and

It seems like it is obligaotry to choose this mutuelle, but again I have friends who have found ways around this by presenting proof of insurance in their own country...
