Does anyone know anywhere in central Amsterdam where I can offload my unwanted clothes? The annual binning of my wardrobe is nigh! Thanks.

That should give the information you need.

Thanks but was hoping of something more central (nr. Rembrantplein). I heard there maybe a Salvation Army place on Spui but whenever I walk down there, I can't find anything.

I'm sure you could just knock on your neighbours door. Most dutchies are so cheap they'll accept literally anything for free.

Yes, its charitable. They wash and mend the clothing (and recycle what's not usable). Some clothing goes to their shops for sale at low prices to poorer people and the other is donated to third world countries. The money gained from selling in the shops is used for charitable works too.

Look here for more information:

There is an amnesty international bin, right in formt of the Hortus Botanicus, near Rembrandtplein. You can drop it there.

This thread is going back some years... Does anyone know if the information is still valid, or know of any other places (in Amsterdam Center) to donate clothes?

i've seen a few of those green recycle bins around where we live (old west). I'm not sure about right in the center though.

if it's any help the one near us is on the corner of de clercqustraat & da costakade and I think there is also one on the corner of marnixstraat & westerstraat.
