I'm fairly new in Brussels. Last Saturday, I wanted to go to dance salsa. I went to a couple of clubs and had the same nasty surprise in both: they didn't let me in because I was ALONE!! Amazingly, a group of people (not couples) were getting in at the same time. There you go, a new kind of stupid discrimination: Singles.
Anyway, since I'd like to try this Saturday again, is there any girl out there who would like to go? (no commitment to dance/stay with me inside needed). I'm 37 and about 1.70m tall.

PHLEGMIE, I'm pretty sure that Albanian people don't need any publicity from a fucking wanker like you.

There's really no need to stoop to expletives... the furtherance of the albanian peasantry is a worthy cause.

I forgot to mention, Phlegmie, that I am allergic to salsa and absolutely loathe latino music... so you had better be into 80s music, alt.rock, nu metal or hip hop (basically, anything that Studio Brussel would play)! Minus points for you if you listen to Radio Donna (as Belgophile once put it: de fun, de hits... de off switch please!).

Well, the only modern German music I'm into is Rammstein. Too bad I missed them at Werchter this year, but frankly I'm too old for the outdoor music festival thing. That being said, I'm thinking of going to Pukkelpop in Hasselt in August: Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Basement Jaxx, LCD Soundsystem, Roisin Murphy (of Moloko fame) and, of course, my favorite West Vlamingen 't Hof van Commerce (saw them at the AB a few months ago) and also the Dutch hip hop band de Jeudg van Tegenwoordig (did you hear their song Wat's Gebeurd? on Stu Bru?).

heb je even voor mij... ta-ta-ta-ta-ta
cheez... db, I used to be one of them combat-booted long-haired chronically bored and depressed looking kids, listening to StuBru, Joy Division, Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, Afghan wigs,... but somewhere along the road I somehow grew up... and turned into the magnificent über-nerd I am nowadays!

How disappointing. Well, what can I expect from a guy who works for a statistics bureau (zzzzz)? I'm not in the habit of hanging out with nerds so you had better come up with something cool about you before we meet in August. Aren't you at least going to see Depeche Mode at the Antwerps Sportpaleis in January? (P.S. The StuBru Elio DiRupo version of Wat's Gebeurd is priceless, don't you think? Download it off Kazaa if you don't know what I'm talking about.)

You evil vixen... I will not stray from the foreseen path, no more...
I used to date this lass, 4 years my senior.. she was still prawling around like some Nick Cave fanatic...
time to baste the roast on sundays, wear orthopedical comfy shoes and take up golfing...
the Doriah Gray attitude will wane, db, and you will have no roast to baste on sundays...

Mr. DB is 4 years younger than me, and if anyone's basting the roast on Sundays, it's him. I never set foot in the kitchen. Anyway, most of the time I can't be bothered to put on mascara anymore, and I often wear (fashionable) sneakers and jeans... but you won't catch me in sandals with white socks anytime soon. As for golf, I gave it up when I ditched the golfer. I abandoned my whole golf bag at the club and never went back! BTW, golf is no longer a sport for old farts; Tiger Woods and all those young Swedes really injected the sport with a new cool factor. Don't you have work to do, Phlegmie? My excuse is that I'm sitting around waiting for Mr. DB to come home and then take me to Friesland for the weekend.
