I have a job offer from a IT firm in Netherlands.

what is the average processing time for mvv? I shall be applying from Dutch Consulate @Bombay.

What about the infamous delay in " Verification & Legalisation " of Birth Certificate.
axvia
Actually nowadays the birth certificate and legalisation goes faster because somebody (not Indian) challenged this system in Dutch court and won. So, because of a Nigerian, you do not have to go thru the trouble which people faced who arrived here between 1998-2004.

All you need is a birth certifcate less than six months old certified by your state government. Please check out with the consulate at the time of applying as the rules change like weather in Holland. More information on Immigration Service Website : www.ind.nl

Before taking up a job in an IT firm in Holland, you have to be sure if you want to do this. If you take a job in a Dutch company, your lack of Dutch language skills will put you in some sort of disadvantage. Moreover, nowaday s more interesting stuff in IT is happening in India and not in Holland.

Hi,

We have 3 rooms available (10, 12 and 18m2) avaible for Rent from October/November 2005.

The rooms are a part of a family home and are newly renovated - sparkling new . The 3 rooms have their own private enterance and share a bathroom (with Toilet)

The area is very green and quiet. A bus stop is just 50 meters from the house. A big shopping center is walkable.

There is a possibility to have (home made) meals but that would cost extra.

Rent would be between 450 and 550 per room. For sake of safety and privacy for all, there would be basic house rules. Some thign that you would have at home - no smoking, no loud parties etc...

Let me know if you are interested.

Hi,

I'm Vijay, an employee of Sony research in Tokyo. I 'm planning to take up a research position in TU-Delft.

As of now the University folks are processing my MVV. I 'm running around offices for attestation and legalization of my birth certificate. Does anybody know how much time it usually takes to get a latest copy of birth certificate and to get it attested in the home ministry office (Chennai) and then in New delhi.

I believe that the legalization procedures have been relaxed by a great deal, still it would be very helpful if I can get a rough idea as to how much time it might take to get the entire process sorted out.

If things sort out in time, I can reach there by Dec 1.

Regards,
Vijay

Generally Hogeschools or HBO universities are not very highly rated. The faculty at these places don't do any research and are often not that well qualified. I also know of an instance where a Masters student at one of these places had a supervisor who himself didn't have a Master's degree! So go figure.
While you might be able to get in to one of these places more easily, you'll come out with a crap degree. So I don''t think it is worth it.

I would advice you to go to one of the better universities like University of Amsterdam, VU, University of Utrecht etc. These are good but also more difficult to get into.

Are you trying in other countries, like the UK for instance. They are much better places for Indian students.

Hi, I am Anitha from Chennai, India.

I am planning to study in Netherlands. I came to know through a consultant that Avans University which is in Tilberg is quite good. Is it so?

I also have many queries running in my mind about scholarships, accommodation, part time jobs, on-campus jobs, how much I can earn?, Will I be able to pay my fees, stay and food with what I earn? Are there many Indian girls studying over there?, Is that country safe for girls? Will there be job opportunities as soon as we finish our course? etc, etc...

I still have many questions, but right now I can only think of these.

I am very eager to study in Netherlands. But since I don't know anyone staying there I am a bit confused. I will be very happy and thankful if somebody helps me clear my doubts.

truly,
Anitha.
