This month I have already videod 2 functions. It's a nightmare editing using just the camcorder and video recorder so I'm thinking of getting the Pinnacle video studio set-up. Best price I can find is from Amazon! Unless you know better. Anyone had experience making more than just clips for e-mails on the 'puter?

Don't do anything illegal like downloading edonkey2000 or overnet for free and grabbing a copy of Adobe Premiere.
Here here, Belgo.
Wouldn't dream of it. Actually, looking at Pinnacles new studio 9. Bit of a set back today. I thought I'd change the AMD 800 chip for a 2,66 or there abouts. It seems my main board would need to be changed too...then there's the additional memory. I may as well just buy a new 'puter!
Indeed, plan your upgrades with care. Motherboard, bus speeds, memory types, chipset, processor sockets... to name a few... need all to be compatible.

However, the info is available, if you know where to look.

Here is a good site. It's only in French though. Click on their hardware course - it is very detailed and excellent.

That's an interesting site, M. Thanks. The set-up I have is only about 3 years old but it's bound to creak a bit if I start video editing on it. I have another option. The small one man biz at the top of the road (he's legal) will put together a system with the bits I want/need. In fact I'm waiting for a price from him for a system for a 13 year-old to see him through his teen years. If the price is right I might see what he can do me another one for.
Good one - support your local businesses.
(I have to say that!)
The local Compaq/HP store charge a hell of a lot for what you get. (Dell UK can do a comparable system for 2/3 the price.) I've given the man up the road a price sheet from the local store and asked him for a price for the same set-up. Should have an anser tonight.
