INVITATION: FILMMAKER TO SCREEN “UNPRECEDENTED”, AWARD-WINNING DOCUMENTARY OF THE CONTROVERSIAL 2000 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Filmmaker Joan Sekler will discuss her critically-acclaimed documentary, “Unprecedented”, after screening it to a local audience in Brussels on 26 January.
“It is important for all… to understand how George W. Bush was not the winner of the presidential election in 2000,” Sekler says, emphasizing that her tour of Europe is aimed at mobilizing American voters abroad. “The participation of Americans abroad in the presidential election of 2004 will be crucial in the effort to 'take back democracy' in the US"
“Unprecedented” is the story of the disputed 2000 presidential election in Florida and the undermining of democracy in America. The film reveals suspicious irregularities in a state governed by the winning candidate’s brother. The filmmakers document a disturbing picture of a stolen election. The Los Angeles Times calls the film “illuminating and persuasive”.
