Did anyone else here about our fearless Vice President Dick Cheney and his recent hunting excursion last weekend ?

For the second time in two years, Vice President Cheney arrived at daybreak at Arnold Palmer Airport in Latrobe, PA. Air traffic was halted briefly at about 7 a.m. as Air Force Two landed and Cheney's security detail loaded him and his favorite shotgun into a Humvee and drove up U.S. Route 30 to an exclusive country club.

He then proceeded to personally shoot 70 ringneck pheasants and an unknown number of mallard ducks !!!

Now I'm not an animal activist and I have gone pheasant hunting once in the last 20 years. But a simple principal is that you only shoot what you need to eat !

Judging from this and VP Cheney's political and business career, I would say this confirms his degree of compassion and level of greed !!

perhaps his favorite gun a semi automatic - hence the high number of fatalities.

Ugh. That's disgusting I can't even comprehend the kind of mindset that allows that kind of wanton destruction

You people really have nothing else to complain about.. A man can hunt for as MANY game as he wants on private land. Fish and Game doesnt have jurisdiction on private property. 70? That does sound like a lot.. But honestly.. I think that would be the total for the number of people in his party. I hunt alot and to get 70.. it would take all weekend. just 9 quail takes a good amount of the day. This has nothing to do with his mindset.. You just havent experienced hunting at its finest. Roosevelt went on trips to africa to hunt rhinos... why not start a thread on him?!

OK, so Dick Cheney is a little greedy. However today, President Bush went hunting with his Daddy in Texas and was reported to have shot five.

Five what, we don't know but rumor has it, it might have been 5 mad cows !
The majority were collateral damage, I'm afraid.

Hell, why are we supporting Expatica's apartheid regime and using this USA forum???!!!
ha ha ha ha, it takes GIjoe (one of Americas finest) most of a day to shoot 9 little quails, and they have a cheek to claim that they have the best trained soldiers in the world....

What happened Joe, the little blighters keep moving ?

ever gone hunting in the Sonora Desert?

That would answer your question, if you said yes. If you say no. Then you are just an ignorant Irishman that has had to much to drink

Now it seems Cheney has been able to take along on his hunting trips, Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia.

Amazing that the Bush administration has been able to blur the line between our judicial branch of government and the White House.

Can't wait to see how Scalia votes on this upcoming case involving the Vice President's unwillingness to hand over his notes from his energy policy commission. I guess the American public is not ready to see Kenneth (Enron) Lay's name listed in the pages.

Well Scalia, I hope you had a pleasent flight on Air Force 2 and were able to shoot plenty of ducks !

To make a comparison between Dick Chenney and Theodore Roosevelt is ludicrous. Roosevelt was much more dignified than Cheney. I bet Roosevelt didn't kill 70 rhinos. Cheney will never be even half the man Roosevelt was.
