Question: my gf is a non EU citizen and she's here on a partner visa (her and her ex split on good terms and she is still registered with him at his place. We want to move in together and have been discussing registering with a makelaar but we have some concerns: Can we both be on the lease if she is NOT going to register with me? She wishes to stay registered with her ex until we can figure out if I am eligible to sponsor her. Will I have to have the lease solely in my own name or can we do this together and she just not register with the town hall? We'll be in the same city.

You both can be on the lease but she can't be registered there until the first part is sorted.

We are just wondering how to explain that to the agent, if needed, and if putting her name on the lease would get her into trouble. I was under the impression that the lease would be submitted to the town hall.

Why would the contact be submitted to the gemeente?
Why do you have to explain anything to the agent?
