I have now been on a KM visa for more than 4 years and want to understand what all tests etc I have to take to apply for my PR and possibly NL passport in middle 2010 when I complete 5 years in NL.

Also I havn't really learned much Dutch so will be helpful if somebody can share experience on how much time it will take to go the requisite level required for PR and best schools/study material and an approx level of effort required to reach the level.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that all you have to do is pass the NT2 test. This is a standard test that all inbuggered etc people have to take. You can surf the net and find a zillion hits on this test - they even have sample tests but I hear that they are misleadingly... simplistic.

When you pass, they will give you a certificate and you can use that when the PR or Dutch Passport application asks for the required information.

Now, here's a clue. wink.gif If you cannot read enough Dutch to nagivate through this website so that you can actually figure out how to take the NT test ... you have a long way to go.

It's hard to learn Dutch.

Thanks... I do have a long way to go!

As a KM I never had to take inbergering courses etc... So do I have to take those as well besides passing NT2?

No, if you have an NT2 cert you don't need to be inbuggered as you already know the language.

No you don't.

I came here on a Working Permit so I never had to get inbuggered either ( where you learn about Dutch culture and you learn Dutch) however, I wanted to learn the language so I took lessons.

I suggest a Tutor if you can afford it - it makes a huge diffference. rolleyes.gif
