Hi Everyone,

First of all God bless all of you for creating and running this magnificient and highly beneficial online forum.

I am Amit from Delhi and am planning to come to NL as KM. I've few queries regarding the whole process. It would be great if anyone can provide answers to the following queries -

1) I don't have a birth certificate. Till this time I was using my High School Passing Certificate as proof of date of birth. I also get my passport made using the same school certificate. Is there any other document which is acceptable in lieu of BC by the Dutch authorities like 10th passing certificate?

What if the birth was not registered with the municipality in India at the time of birth? How to proceed in that case. Will a certificate from municipality regarding "Non registration of birth" would help? Pls. share your experiences and give your valuable advice in this regard.

2) Now since India has signed apostille treaty, is it still necessary to get the birth, marriage and educational certificates legalised from the Dutch embassy after getting the apostille stamp from Ministry of External Affairs?

3) I have been offered 38k p.a. gross by a Amsterdam based company. How much can I expect to get as net salary per month? Will it be sufficient for me and my non working wife? How much shud I expect to shell out on house
rent and groceries?

4) What all legalised documents must be attached (from employer as well as employee side) along with the "request for advice preceeding MVV application"? Do the employer needs to attach my legalised birth and marriage certificates also while requesting for the advice?

I asked this question because there are conflicting views on this -

As per the IND website -

When IND assesses the request for advice, it will also take into account whether the employee and any possible family members have the required (legalised) documents. To this end, you as an employer must submit copies of the (legalised) documents. If the request you have submitted is incomplete, you will receive a letter from the IND stating which documents you still have to submit.

However in some forum posts, I've read at couple of places that for request of advice and even for getting MVV, legalised documents like BC are not required. These documents are only required when you register in NL
municipality after landing in NL.

I am very confused so pls. shed more light on this.

5) What legalised documents I need to submit in Dutch Embassy when I make my MVV application?

6) What legalised documents I need to submit in Netherlands when I make my residence permit application?

Thanks in advance and keep rocking this forum.

Hi Amit,

I think there is no alternate other than BC.. other members pls. confirm..

After apostille stamp, there is no further need of any legalisation of docs.. apostille itself is sufficient..

I would request Sevaram and other veterans on this forum to enlighten us with their thoughts over my replies as well as over Amit's remaining queries.

Take Care.
