I wondered if anyone has a Dutch partner and has just had him/her set up another account with that person's bank - one that is in your name or his/her and your name rather than go through the whole process of setting up another one.

I won't have a sofi number for some time and it seems that once I do, unless I can provide proof of income then I can only get a savings account.

I'm trying to streamline all necessary preparations so that I can just just provide a list to my partner of what need be done in regard to me living there.

I move Nov. 30 of this year.

Thanks,

k

We just added my name to my husband's ABN account, but that was after I had my BSN already... I'm not certain if you can be added without one.

I don't know if ING is as laid back about accounts as Postbank was, but I was able to open a normal account there without an income. It didn't seem to be an issue.
