Hello everyone !
Well..
I already posted topics about registraion questions and how to find a way to work in Holland without registration.
If somebody can give me an advice on this theme, I'll be very thankfull !
I made an appointment at belastingdist. I want to get a sofi number, but it gives only for max 4 months..so..but I foin an info that if I'll registrate at Foreign Police Office - I can work without any contracts.
Of course in future I wont to find a place where I can registrate, but for renting I need some money to start..
And qustion is - what exactly will give me this Foreign Police registration and how it depends on sofi number ? (my future possiblitys ?)
Also I have to have a bank account for my salary. I know that I need an adress>registration at gemente...may be here is another way to get it ??????
It sounds like you are asking this question based on information that is about 4 years old-- it used to be that you could only get the SoFi number from the Belastingdienst and had to show proof of legal residence to get it, but nowadays it is called the BSN (citizen service number) and you get it from the municipality (
gemeente) you live in when you register as living at an address there. It also used to be that you would go to the Aliens' or Foreign Police (
Vreemdelingenpolitie) office to apply for legal residence, but nowadays you go directly to the closest office of the IND, after making an appointment at 0900-1234561.
However, if you are EU/EEA/Swiss and not Romanian or Bulgarian, you don't really have to ask the IND for a sticker (in a typical Dutch way, getting it is 'obligatory' but not getting it is not penalized)-- most people, including the registry office at your municipality, will assume you are legally here if you just show your passport or identity card-- they will register your address and issue you a BSN within 5 days. With that BSN you can get a bank account.
But yes, if you don't have an address in the first place, you are confronted with an insurmountable Catch-22: can't register, can't get a BSN, can't get a bank account. Try seeing if you can register at a friend's home to start with.
Technically, of course, if you are "EU except 2" as described above, you are already legal to work and get paid without being registered or having a bank account-- it all depends on your employer being willing to pay you in cash and set your income tax withholdings aside for a little while until you get a BSN.
