It's John Pilger for Christ's sake. WTF.

Worth viewing. No surprises.

Maybe I've been away, but I don't remember that kind of analysis from Pilger before the election.
stone
I didn't particularly know who Pilger was, but I made it to 1:57 before having to switch it off.

Accusing Obama of links to the CIA.... I could see where it was going.

I suppose it's inevitable: Not even Obama is left-wing enough for some. Since there's nobody to the left of Obama in the American system, the real issue is that some people, well, hate the US.

The class war must go on

It is nice to see the left wing waking up to realize they elected someone they thought was the anti-Bush, but in reality offered merely hope and change rather than substance and experience.

The guy was totally unqualified to be President and we are going to pay.

How does critiizing USA foreign policy compose "hating USA"?
stone
I think Obama is a fine president.

There is no-one to the left of Obama. If you are going to crticise Obama from the left when there is no-one to the left of him, you're really criticising the American system. You're saying that the American system is flawed in not being able to produce leaders that are left enough for your taste.

That feeds right into typical anti-Americanism.

Bush wasn't good enough. Now Obama isn't good enough. What exactly do people want from the Americans?

The impossible. They just want to complain about the Americans.

What amuses me is that left-wing attacks on Obama have to pay lip service to his race. Pilger does it beautifully. "Yes, it's nice that he's black....but he's still a CIA tool."

Pilger is one of the most well-known political writers in the world.
He wrote for the Daily Mirror years ago when it was truly left wing - before it became a rag.
The whole of the US government is connected to the CIA more than ever.

Since when has Obama been left wing? !

Go read some John Pilger.

What the other side thinks....

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/30...interrogations/

Cheney Slams Obama's 'Politicized' Probe of CIA Interrogations
In blunt, unsparing language, former Vice President Dick Cheney accuses President Obama of setting a "terrible precedent" by launching an "intensely partisan, politicized look back at the prior administration," seeming to question Obama's fitness as commander-in-chief.

Surely the answer is somewhere in the middle: Obama is not the antichrist; America is not the antichrist.

He doesn't accuse Obama of working for the CIA, he notes the company he used to work for does covert work for them.

It's the last bits that is best. He goes through a laundry list that demonstrates Obama is not left-wing, not by a long shot.

I haven't heard anything from Chomsky re Obama lately.

Stone I understand your sentiment, but if there is a massive scam going on, i.e. both parties serving the same interests at expense of the public, don't you think that should be faced and dealt with?
no pasaran!
Pilger was vocally anti-Obama well before his election victory. He accused him of being an 'Uncle Tom'.

Obama is certainly not left wing, or anything close to left wing. Politically he's equivalent to the moderate wing of the U.K. Conservative party.

This news will come as an enormous shock to Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader!

Stone, may I suggest you to read the article from George Friedman I posted (if you already didn't)? You will answers to your questions.
In general George Friedman did pretty good work on strategic analyses with Stratfor.

I feel that main constraints of Obama are Clinton and Biden. Perhaps he was forced to make some kind of deal with somebody in order to proceed as the candidate of Democratic party. Have we forgptten how fiercely Hilary was fighting against Obama in the campaign and how she called hom "inexperienced". Perhaps difference will eventually surface out.

wow, how surprising.
