An Act of State. The Execution of Martin Luther King

Ive just finished this book and it is truly shocking.
The author is the lawyer who cleared the alleged assassin,James Earl Rays name in 1998.

There was Memphis Police Dept./FBI/CIA/military and mafia involved in the murder.
Witnesses were harassed,threatened,intimidated and killed.
Vital evidence which proved James Earl Ray not be tha assasin was destroyed and ignored.
There was a huge cover-up....and a mass media shutdown when the case was brought before a judge in 1998.

One of the most amazing aspects is that the 'powers that be' and mass media still go with the official line that James Earl Ray was the shooter.

I'm quite sure the US was on the verge of radical change in 1968....and the powers that be knew that and needed to stop it - thats why they killed Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy.

I know for a fact that just before MLK was killed, he had entered into talks with Native American officials about civil rights. Imagine how scary that was for the white male establishment.

Thanks - I didn't know that either.
And also MLK and Bobby Kennedy were getting together about issues.
I feel a bit ashamed about not knowing how brilliant he was.
I was just a kid at the time, but I do remember my Dad(white working class northern english bloke) being really upset about the murder.MLK was reaching people everywhere.
I've just ordered his autobiography - can't wait to get it!

MLK on technology - only 30 seconds but phew ! What a guy!
