If you grew up in the 70s in the US you probably remember Soul Train. Growing up in a small midwestern town I used to love this show, along with The Midnight Special and American Bandstand, for a glimpse outside of the dull day to day. Anyhow, Sould Train has a video channel up on youtube now with a lot of classic performances, including the line dance (YAY!) and will be adding new stuff regularly. Check out the O'Jays Backstabbers for the essense of cool.

Oh yeah, I love old soul and R&B. If he likes older stuff as well he should check out Stax, Goldwax, Atlantic. There are some fantastic compilations on Ace Records out of the UK.
