Is there any postdoc around willing to give a detailed break down of his salary per month or year???

I got some salary break down info from switzerland.. which is like below

Gross Annual: 81,000 CHF
Gross Monthly: 6,230.75 CHF (13 months)

AHV (Social Security ): 314.65 CHF
ALV (Unemployment Insurance): 62.30 CHF
NBU (Accident Insurance): 49.00 CHF
Pension Fund "Pubblica": 318.95 CHF

Direct income tax (for foreigner) (12.1%): 753.90 CHF

Net Monthly: 4731.95 CHF


Is there any postdoc from netherland willing to give a detailed account of his salary??

It would always be nice to have some data like this in mind before going on to the negotiation table .. laugh.gif

Considering the lots of post I found here for post doc salary I don't think you going to get same here..I think you are earning almost double compared to NL guys (in Euro).
Then Switzerland has more english speaking people than NL so your social life will also be better.
I am not sure about the advantage you will have on chosing CH over NL, but if it is not much then certainly go for Switzerland as you are obviously earning more there.

btw why do you laugh so much in your post ? atleast with the emotion smile.gif.

When Dutch universities/research institutes advertise research/teaching jobs, they state how much they pay for it. So, it depends on the job being offered. If you want more information, search for specific job advertisements.

Actually, he would only net about €3115. The Swiss franc is a bit lower than the Euro.

And it's more than likely that the cost of living is cheaper here as well.
