I think its being instigated, faked(in some parts) and stage managed by the government controlled western media to de-stablise the situation.
Ain't it goddamned shame that the same media didn't cover the flawed US elections of 2000 and 2004 with the same fervour?
Does anyone else have doubts about the authenticity of the 'amateur footage'....I mean,on one of those cameras, its easy to exaggerate a scene.
What happens there is actually power struggle between clerics. One thing is interesting about Ahmadinejad, since 1979 he is the first non-clerical President. Find out more about the role of Rafsanjani, conservative, pragmatic cleric and the richest man in Iran. Intelectuals and students have a good will and desire to take their country out of the isolation, but they are still minority, they still have long way to go. If they speak for majority we would see a major upirsing across the country - hasn't happen yet.
I am afraid that clerics in Iran even if they are forced from power, they would continue their activities in a similar fashion as Talibans in Afghanistan. And this is the last thing everyone wants to happen in Iran.
What happened to Khatami, who was a real reformer?
