my name is vasilis and im greek man, im from creta full of dutch tourist womens and girld 5 months every summer.

me and my greek friends we are curious about some beliefs we have her in holland.

let me tell u a few things.
here in creta many greek men got married with dutch women and the mijority of these women didnt divorce from their marriage!!!!!

i have a dutch girlfriend from limburg, roermond, she iis a model in holland and she comes every somer in greece, in creta and we spend time together, the thig is that she is crazy for me, she loves me but many greek men who had been in holland told me that those dutch women who immiigrated in creta are much different rather th ones who live in holland.
they told me that dutch women in holland cheat very easily their man, they dont like monogamy and gemerally are unfaithful!!
they dont like the traditional way of christian family as we mean it in greece and generally in mediterranean countries!!!

every summer also we got weird by the dutch tourists cause they dont know that SINTERKLAASS IS GREEK AND ISNT THE OTHER THAN THE GREEK BISSOP SAINT NIKOLAUS.
WE ALSO HAVE A GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH IN ROTTERDAM NAMED SAINT NIKOLAUS1
ALSO DUTCH DONT KNOW THAT THE DESERT BAKLAVA ISNT TURKISH BUT 1000% GREEK TRADITIONAL DESERT AND THAT TURKISH MAKE A BLACK PROOAGANDE IN HOLLAND WITH EVERY GREEK THING SUCH AS GREEK SOUVLAKI, GREEK BAKLAVA, GREEK SINTERKLAASS, GREEK MUSAKA, GREEK PASTITSIO, GREEK ANCIENT FILOSOPHERS, ALSO WITH TH WRONG NAMED CITY INSTABUL, THE RIGHT NAMT IS CONSTANTINOULOLIS!!!
IT WAS A GREEK CITY FOR 4000 YEARS , THE CAPITAL OF GREEK VYZANTINE EMPIRE.

SO I WANNA KNOW UR OPINION ABOUT ALL THESE TOPICS AND GENERALLY WHY DYTCH PEOPLE KNOW SO LITTLE ABOUT GREEK HISTRY!!!!!
AND IM ASKING MOSTLY OUR AMERICAN FRIENDS, THEIR EXPERIENCES CAUSE IN USA THEY LIVE 6 MILLION GREEKS ORTHODOX AND AMERICANS KNOW THAT:

1) THE 1ST DEMOCRACY WAS GREEK
2) OLYMPIC GAMES ARE GREEK ORIGIN
3) THE 1ST DOCTOR WAS GREEK, HIPOCRATES AND EVERY DOCTOR SWEARS TO HIPOKRATES SWEAR

4) ALL THE FAMOUS CLASSICAL FILOSOPHERS, MATHEMATICIANS , GEOMETRICIANS, PHISICHIANS WERE GREEKS SUCH AS PLATONAS, ARISTOTELIS, EFKLIDIS, EVRIPIDIS, DIAGORAS, PERIKLIS, ALEXANDER THE GREAT, ARISTOFANIS, HIPOKRATES, THOUKIDIDIS, OMIROS, EVERYTHING WERE GREEK.
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT WHY DUTCH PEOPLE DOESNT KNOW THAT MACEDONIA IS GREEK FOR 20000 YEARS AND THAT THE STATE OF SKOPIE OR VARDASKA IS THE RIGHT NAMR FOR THEM MAKE A BLACK AND DIRTY PROPAGANDA TO STEAL THE NAME FROM GREECE?
THE GRAVE OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT S IN THESALONIKI, ATGHE 2ND BIGGEST CITY OF GREECE AND EVERYONE KNOWS MACEDONIA IS THE NOTHERN PROVINCE OF GREECE???????
WHY DUTCH MASS MEDIA DONT REFER TO ALL THESE MATTERS?

Really .. WE are not Dutch people.

You are absolutely right!
Being cultivated people we know very well (almost) all what you said.
However I have to observe 2 things:
1) many Dutch people are not as cultivated as we are and don't know that Sinterklaas was a Greek (in fact Lycean) bisshop. They think he still lives in Spain and comes to the Swamp on a Steamboat. Others, still less cultivated, call him a Turkish bisshop, which is a "contradictio in terminis" as Turks are Muslims and don't have Bisshops!
2) The great Greek physician Archimedes (the man behind the unforgettable word "Eurêka!") did not live in Greece but in Sicily, in the city of Syracuse. The great Greek mathematician Eratosthenes, who calculated that the earth is round in the 3rd century BC, did not live in Greece, but in Egypt. This means that the great Greek civilisation spread all over the world and is not restricted to past and present Hellas!
Btw, forget all the envious and jealous stories about Dutch women. All women are the same all over the world. It is true however that some women are more the same than other women...

I didnt get it either.. nor did I get the first post/rant! I then assumed it was either a kid, or a joke, or both, but that was after copious amounts of caffeine.

Thank you for this very informative message: now I know that Baklava desert is 1000% greek, instead of the 100% I had come to believe it would be.
