I have a client who has not paid for a job done last year. It's not a large amount (just 300 euros), but I am curious if there's anything that can done - I am under the impression it's too small an amount for a collection agency??. I have emails saying they intend paying and all that, but in the end, nothing comes of it. They seem to be a fairly "professional" company, so I am a bit surprised by this treatment. Any ideas??

I would send them a letter by post giving them a payment deadline.

There are a couple examples of "friendly" reminder letters (in english and dutch) you can look at here: http://www.incassodienst.nl/incasso-tools.html

Another option - not sure of the legalities would be to let them know if the deadline is not met then for each month the bill continues to remain outstanding there will be a finance charge added to their total... and after 3 months of non-payment their case will be referred to an incassobureau.

Wondering if anyone has used incassodienst successfully.....I'm a bit apprehensive despite the "no cure no pay claim"...

I don't even care much about the money now, I want to "punish" them a bit - are there any agencies for complaints towards businesses?? I've just threatened to contact their client (we were hired to do something for a project they had with a big client) - hoping the idea of a crazy American harassing their client for using our contribution illegally (since it hasn't been paid for) is enough to scare them a bit wink.gif

You could always try Stichting Geschillencommissies http://www.sgc.nl/

It says on their webpage that they also handle the Stichting Geschillencommissies voor Beroep en Bedrijf, there is an info line you can call regarding this on the 'home' tab of their page.

That probably will harm you more than him. Goin' the way by the book is recommended if you can proof you have legal title
