Sounds more like "guilty pleasures" music...the stuff you love but hesitate to tell others that you do?

Kind of like the Monkees...they just keep sounding better the older I get!

Yep! She looked great...the voice was in good shape...

Wasn't very exciting though. Don't know why...My son said that she was awesome, but the concert didn't thrill him!

It was missing a certain something I can't put my finger on. Hmmm...

Maybe she just wasn't feelin it that time. What song did you like the best from her?

Well, I like her the Rufus stuff, so Tell Me Something Good for sure. R&B from the 80s and beyond always sounds too slick for my taste.

btw. how's the job hunting going?
Canucky Woman
Terrible. There's nothing to apply for anymore and I'm scared to death.

I don't know what kind of work you usually do or what kind of work you would take on right now if things are tough but there is often agency work at ESTEC (European Space & Technology Centre) in Noordwijk and the work is in English. The agency work there is not so badly paid. I have no idea if this would be helpful to you but just thought I would post it here in case it might be. I wish you good luck and hope something turns up soon.

I found three jobs at xpatjobs.nl today...one of them actually sounded as if it were from that Centre...Something to do with space and located in Zuid-Holland?

Coincidentally, the Dutchie pointed it out yesterday when we took my son out for a drive along the coast...

Thanks marthamay...and sorry for highjacking the thread!

Howzabout some more feel-good music, eh?

Won't highjack after this post - but it sounds like the same place then (Zuid Holland). It's not a bad place to work at all and the working language is English and the conditions/pay etc. not bad either (plus they have a great canteen with very good food!!). Hope you are lucky.

Feel good music - anything Tamla Motown or Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions, or whatabout MacFadden & Whitehead ''Ain't no Stopping Us Now'' (great driving music). Ho hum - the list is endless!!

I used to love his show!
I met him once about 25yrs back.Really lovely bloke too.
I asked him to play anything by Elmore James and he played Stranger Blues on his show the following monday.
I saw the Undertones as well....probably 30 years ago(oh dear)
