I would like to buy a telescope. Not having bought one before I wondered if anyone could give advice. I am looking for a decent model suitable for a novice. Something not too heavy that I would be able to travel with or use on a tripod when at home. I wanted to pay around 150 Euros or less for the telescope. Any advice gratefully received.

I'm only aware of one shop that specializes in telescopes, I've never been there but a friend bought a scope there and recommended it to me. I bought one in the U.S. and brought it back with me.
