Please, please, please!!! I am soooo desperately seeking other english or dutch speaking moms in my area. I live in Hilversum but am willing to travel within reason. My son is a very active almost 2 (end of January) year old. We get so bored during the winter months!
I am an American married to a Dutch pilot. I've lived here for a bit more than 5 years and can speak Dutch but my understanding dutch is way better than my speaking dutch.
Anyway, to end my miserable pleading....I know that you are out there. Take a chance and message me! Please!

Hi coppernl!
My son is almost the same age as yours (he will be 2 on 26th of January) and we are expecting our second son in march. 3 months ago we moved from Germany to Soest (you probably know it, only 15 minutes away from Hilversum). Now I have the same problems like you: bad weather, no friends with children yet (exept one german couple) and lots of time! And unfortunately I cannot speak Dutch...
So I'm very interested in meeting other moms and their kids + would be glad if you would contact me! My email is: fruebis@gmx.de
Greetings

Hi Copper,
I live in Hilversum as well (since a month). We lived in Amsterdam for more then 10 years and moved to the "countryside" because of our two children (our daughter is 2, son is 3 months). We are Austrian but speak Dutch fluently and I also do speak English. Its sooo quiet here! Where are all the people? Well, if you want to get together let me know. I anyway wonder why there are so few Dutch mothers looking for friends? All working hard 5 days a week?
My email is tkunit@hotmail.com
See you!

Hi, I'm a new mom...my son was born on boxing day..I live in Hilversum, and thought it would be nice to meet other moms in the area. I have been living in NL for 2 1/2 years now, however don't know that many people in the area with kids ( most of my friends are childless and/or live in and around Amsterdam).
My email address is m.tanner@live.com

Hi Coppernl,
I am living in Hilversum (South area) and have a son of 20 months (though he is a very active/ advanced 20 months!!). I do speak Dutch but still find it tough to make friends with Dutch mothers (maybe I am not trying hard enough???). I am English/ Swedish, married to a Greek. We have lived here for about 8 years now. Since my son was born I have cut back on the number of days I work (still work 2 days a week for a pharmaceutical company) and am finding it rahter tough to adjust as I am used to travelling abroad for work most of the time. I notice my son is really missing contact with other kids as most of my friends do not have kids or not of a similar age.
I would love to meet up. If you are interested please contact me at annika.shirley@gmail.com

Hello Buffy!
My name is Kate I am English and have a Dutch husband and a 21 month old son.
I live in Harderwijk - which is about 25 minutes away from Lelystad. My husband actually works in the hospital in Lelystad. I sometimes come there to go to the Ballorig indoor play area with my son or to Batavia stad. He is a bit older than your baby -= but I would be happy to meet up with you for coffee or whatever. I know how lonely it can be when you first move to NL! Do you have a car? You would be always welcome to visit me here in Harderwijk too. Anyway, please feel free to email me on kvandermeijs@hotmail.com
We have the Dolfinarium and also Harderwijk is a lovely old town which might make a nice change for you!
Also, in Almere there is an English speaking mums and tots group. They meet every Monday. If you are mobile then it might be a great place for you to make some contacts. Almere is pretty close to Lelystad too. Actually even without a car you could get the train as the group meets very close to Parkwijk station. Here is the link for their website!

Hello, my name is Lois and I live in Zeist. I think I have the answer for you namely the International Womens Contact Utrecht group. They have members from all the areas you mention, some mums, some not, but there are many events and activities aimed at mums with tots. Please check out their website for more info or please feel free to contact me at llmyob@hotmail.com if you would like an introduction to the Group. I have only been a member since December, but it has turned my social life round both as a mum and a woman! :-)
http://www.iwcu.nl/index.htmlHope this helps,
Lois
