I'm from NYC and dining out is a huge part of my life. I'm moving to Leiden this week, and although I've been there before, I found it a bit difficult to find places to go for dinner... I'd love to hear about restaurants and bars that people recommend.

Sabai Sabai is a good Thai restaurant.
Restaurant Het Prentenkabinet
Restaurant 't Crabbetje (seafood)
There is an Italian near the haven that I can't remember the name which is very good.

Great bars are:

The Bonte Koe (character)
The Burcht (Jazz & Character)
Maneer Jansens (character)
Lemmy's (great selection of beer)
Cafe Barrera (nice setting)
De WW (studentish, good music)

You could try out the Leiden expat group also, they sometimes organise dinners out in Leiden.

Thanks!

I walked past Maneer Jansens just yesterday and stopped to check the menu.. I'll make a note of your suggestions!

There is a thai restaurant better than Sabai Sabai, called Sisaket - it's near the train station!
Also try Maille Jan, M'n Broer and t' Fust for dutch/french style food.

Eet Smaakelijk!!

Morten, you have to pay to advertise here wink.gif You're advertising your chosen company (or your employer or client?) far too much to be an ordinary expat.
