Anyone know a bar where we can watch the AFL Grand Final LIVE on Saturday?
I would love to watch it with some fellow Aussies!
From previous posts the following bars have been suggested:
-The Waterhole, Zaventem
-The Bok and Dragon, Brussels
But i cannot find a phone number that will work for either of them to check on this
I have called the following and been told "no we wont be open"
-The irish times, antwerp
-fat boys sports bar, brussels

We watched the AFL Grand Final live at The Irish Times in Antwerp in 2006 & 2007. We were hoping to be there again this Sat., but there seems to be a change of management & they don't seem keen. However, my husband is going to phone them again tomorrow. I'm sure if there is enough interest, they'll open. So come on AFL fans, phone The Irish & tell them how important it is to we Aussies

I'm living in Leuven, Belgium. I'm from Melbourne. I support the Hawks, but I'm also struggling to find a place to watch the match.

If you have not found anyone to show it yet, maybe I'd have a small chance here in Leuven - if you two and any other interested aussies you know could guarantee to come to Leuven to see the game - at Stapletons Irish Pub - I may convince them if I can promise a few people.

Did anyone check with the Waterhole in Zaventem? This is where I watched live last year.

I tried to call the Waterhole, but the number I found for them on the net no longer works. If I get desperate, I might drop in there tomorrow night to ask. However, the fact that the Waterhole is no longer listed on this site is not promising: http://www.worldfootynews.com/article.php/20080917122024757

I've just talked to the guy at the Waterhole. He wasn't planning to open as he would be away on the weekend but seemed interested if enough people would show up.

Could we get a reaction on the number of people who would definately turn up at the Waterhole if shown live?

He asked me to call tomorrow night to see if he could do anything

Did we get confirmation if the game's showing at the Waterhole?

I've spoken to Pat at the Waterhole and he will be open around 6am

If you arrive and doors are not open he said to call mobile 0477 689 006, he is upstairs

Please try for as many as possible to show up as he normally wasn't going to open
