Can you apply for the working holiday visa in Netherlands or will I have to pre-apply in London? I have heard two conflicting stories so was wondering if anyone can clarify this...

I am already in Ireland and am flying directly into Amsterdam from here.

cheers

Thanks Amanda...

Just a couple more questions...Did you need anything else other than your passport and birth certificate? I wont have a return ticket but I can prove funds if need be.

Do they keep your passport while processing your visa? Can you let me know how long it takes to get the visa?

I am moving in November and was hoping to go away for xmas whilst my visa was getting processed....

Cheers

hey,

they asked me to provide a copy of my return flight ... they ask everyone for different things though i believe... ie. travel insurance detials. But once you have everything they just stamp your passport while you there. you also need passport sized photos.
easy!

Yeah, I have now gone and done this too (Thanks Amanda!!) and I'm booked in for the 6th at the IND. All they need is the passport sized photo's, return ticket ANYWHERE outside the netherlands (can just be a ticket to England), Passport and 30 Euros.

You dont need the Birth Certificate until afterwards, but they seem like it is all pretty damn easy and straightforward. Go for it!

Hey,

I'm glad i read that, makes things alot easier, the UK visa process was a hastle.

Does anyone know of any other visa's that let you stay longer than a year? I know in the UK they have the highly skilled migrant programme, but can you get that (or similar) in NL?

Cheers
