Full Version: Moving back to the US with a non US citizen

Hello

I am living in Belgium for about 4 years and plan to move back to the US next year.
I am engaged to a Belgium lady and we plan to get married in the states.

Dont know what is required , so interested if any one has went thru the process.

Jim,
By all means do not get married in the States. Do it here and apply for the greencard through the embassy. I married a Japanese women (sadly we are divorcing now but no matter) and it took us three years before she finally got her green card. And this was in 1999 before immigration got even more screwed up. The only upside was that we waited so long that she didn't have to get a temporary green card (for the first two years of marriage). Doing in the U.S. means filing for a fiance visa and the going through INS (now homeland security) hell.
