Just opened under the station is Big Burger.

Freshly made 'real' burgers, good quality toasted buns and, at 2.50 Euro for a well filled Egg Burger really inexpensive, Perhaps not as eclectic in choice as Burgermeesters in Albert Cuypstraat (adjacent to the illustrious Balti House), but pretty much similar quality at a third of the price.

I stopped here today for a quick lunch.Haven't tried the place in the market, but you must have hit this one on a good day.No toasted buns and the patty was a Dutch meatball type mixture very similar to a Febo burger.Way to much overly sweet mayo type sauce(again Febo style).A real disapointment, a bit bigger than a Febo burger but no better,a far cry from a real hamburger.

Okay. Sorry you were disappointred. I actually went there twice the first week they were open and found it really good, but maybe they were out to impress. I haven't been back since, so perhaps their standards have slipped (rapidly!). In which case, my apologies.

Burgermeester, whilst pricey, is VERY good though ... errr ... will you trust me on that recommendation? wink.gif

Sure!I'll give them a try.The one at the station was surely edible, but I guess I was expecting an American style hamburger( when done properly ,one of the worlds great gourmet delights).Dutch style hamburgers are fine, but are more of a meatloaf sandwich to me.
