Hi.
We are in the process of obtaining a Belgian driver's license. This can be done at the local gemeentehuis. We have obtained an authorized translation. However, the driver's license is issued in Virginia. The class of vehicles noted on the license is "None". Now the people at the gemeentehuis cannot make the connection to the Belgian class of vehicles. They referred us to the US embassy for an official statement describing the corresponding class. However, the embassy personnel stopped doing this function as of 1 August 2007. They stated that if there were any questions, the Belgians could call them. However, the local gemeentehuis personnel are reluctant to do so and request an official paper statement. The Virginia DMV web site does not provide any help either. Who has any suggestions? Thanks! |
