Hello

My company tells me that I can have a tax advantage within the next 5 years while working in Brussels. My advocat in my home residence in Germany tells me, that I can have only a tax advantage if I stay more than half a year in Germany working. And this applies only for 2 years.

Has anyone made experiences with tax advantages using expat regulation.

In the meanwhile I have my expat regulations. and instead of paying 53.5% tax on my income I am getting down to near 30% which is then comparable to the taxes I would pay in Germany. So I recommend all Eurocommuters to check that out. Everytime I work abroad, I do not pay taxes at all, however I have to make my tax declaration in Germany for these days. But this solution is much better than accepting Belgian conditions. The company which I dealt with in expat regulations is Deloitte in Diegem.
