Does anybody know Cork?
Mr. Det is leaving for Cork today. He´s convinced that the place is absolutely boring but then again so far he´s only been there for meetings and the Corkeans? have never bothered to show their Swiss guests any nice places of the town. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Sorry Dettol, I dont know Cork city, been there a few times but apart from the strange sounding locals I cant think of anything too memorable about the place. However, it is the European city of culture so I'd expect they have some things lined up.
If he has a day or two off or is spending the weekend there then I'd recommend he take a trip to Co.Clare. Visit the Cliffs of Moher and Alliwee caves, drive along the coast road, lahinch, liscannor, ballyvaughan, ennistymon etc, some wow sea views. West Cork is supposed to be very picturesque (sp) but he mightnt be too impressed with the no of Germans he meets (they own west cork). I'm sure there are lots of things to see/do close to Cork city, tell him to call the locals "langers" if they dont get their finger out and show him around, but be warned "showing someone around" in Cork will probably require many pit stops in the various watering holes around the place......... |

Thanks, Dizzy.
Well Mr. Det doesn´t seem to get any time off - late conferences. So he's already looking forward to Thursday when he´ll return home. Maybe next time. |
