I'm on the Jacksons e-mail list and received an invitation for the new arts & crafts activities .
Would anyone like to join me ( not much fun going by myself) there for some scrapbooking ? or "one stroke painting" ? reply here or contact the store for more info : info@jacksons.be |

What is scrapbooking, exactly? I've heard of it, but never heard it explained. And come to think of it, what is "one stroke painting"?
Thanks for the info, btw - I'm chained to the study desk at the moment so it's out for me but maybe others will be interested. And welcome to the forum! |

I'll attempt an explanation ...
scrapbooking is a more crafty way of putting your photo's in an album . You collect your favourite pictures , along with assorted matching papers , embellishments , ribbon , paint , glue , stamps, ...anyway , you put it all togheter in such a way that you get a standard size ( 12inch) page that jumps out at you with a story to tell . Perhaps it only needs one picture , or perhaps a collage of several but the result is always very unique . The standard size is handy because if you get special scrapbooking materials they are always that size and they have nice sturdy albums with plastic sleeves for your creations . ( a search on google will show you great samples) It's a real fun thing to do in groups because you work with pictures ( good conversation !)and you get to share all your materials ( makes it cheaper !) and ofcourse share ideas !! One stroke painting is a special painting technique where you "load" one brush with different paints to create a special effect . It was created by Donna Dewberry in Florida and is mostly used for decorating . ( again a search on google will probably show you results that can explain it much better than I can !)It just looks very different than any other technique ... I hope that explains it a little .. |

Snoopy - my wife (and I to a lesser degree) is a scrapper (to user her vernacular). We live in Geel 50% and the US 50%. I know she would be interested in at least talking to you or possibly meeting sometime.
