A reader sent this comment in to me and asked me to post it on the forum:
"When I was at Schiphol airport recently, I saw that the ticket machines for the trains have an ‘Easy Ticket’ to Amsterdam. The English language page on the screen automatically selects a first class single for €6.60 so the unwitting passenger is easily taken advantage of. They are not told about the standard fare which is considerably cheaper. This seems rather unfair...perhaps the VVV should know of this , too!" |

The NS is having too many marketing boys and girls who clearly need some ethics training. However, I have always found their complaints dept to be extremely unhelpful, so better to contact VVV, city of Amsterdam, and the airport, so that they can put pressure on NS. I hope they will learn that squeezing money out of people in this way will only turn otherwise friendly people against them. They should be ashamed |
