T.G.I.F Drinks and conversation.
Tomorrow at 9
Location
Pacific parc
8-10 Haarlemmerweg
Amsterdam
31-20-581-0425

Learn more here:

In the two weeks since becoming organizer, about 25 new members have joined. This is remarkable growth.

I finally picked a venue for tomorrow night. Pacific parc is located in the Westerpark area. Directions on how to get there by public transport are below. If the weather has cleared up, which seems unlikely, then there is space outside. There is plenty of space inside as well though.

As always, please feel free to suggest new venues for Friday's. If you have any ideas for new events, please let me know.

Peace,
Michael

Hello all,

Again, I am amazed at how fast we are growing. Over 40 new members have joined in less than three weeks! Last week a whopping 25 people showed up on Fri., including a number of new faces.

Event suggestions have been flooding in and a number of new organizers have projects in the works. Events in the making range the gamut from poker nights to museum trips. If you have any ideas, please let me know, or better yet start a conversation in the forums.

I have finally chosen a venue for tomorrow night's festivities. We haven't been to Molly's for a while, so we seemed due to return. Molly Malone's is an Irish pub located near central station. Tucked away on a side road, it is remarkably free of tourists, yet full of expats. You can find out more about the venue from their website: http://www.mollyinamsterdam.com/mollyinamsterdam.html.

That being said, it is very hard to find until you know where it is. Definitely map your route.

Hope to see you out tomorrow.

Peace,
Michael

Just wanted to post an abridged the Amsterdam Expat Meetup Group's newsletter:

Hi All,

This is the first monthly newsletter for the group. I am kind of writing this on the spur of the moment, but hopefully it can be come a useful monthly or quarterly organizational publication.

Again, I want to thank everyone for their active participation. I have been really blown away by how eager everyone is to host events. With increasing diversity in the types of events we are hosting, we are serving more of our members. Most importantly, we are providing a welcoming environment for a wider range of the expat community.

This change is not going unnoticed! We are growing at a phenomenol rate of over 10 new members a week! In the six weeks since I have been organizer, we have seen over 100 new members and are set to pass over 500 members in the next few days!

Our flagship T.G.I.F. is going strong. We have seen between 20-27 attendees for each of the last 5 weeks. Typically there has been a near even spread between new and returning members.

Competing in popularity, we have been having nearly weekly dinners. Hosted by Pamela, these dinners have been filling up almost as soon as they are posted. Limited to only ten people, these have proven a controlled and welcoming environment for new members.

We have seen a number of other new events including music festivals in local parks and shooting pool. We have a number of additional events in the works.

Please feel free to give me any feedback you have on this newsletter. I am always open to suggestions. Again, thank you to everyone for your participation and welcome to all the new and existing members who I have yet to meet.

Peace,
Michael
