Pretty irrelevant questions. Winters are bit worse than what you exp in North India. It does not get foggy here. Dark, rainy, windy , little snow (End Dec , Jan). Houses here have really good heating system. So stay inside with the kids. You won't even notice it is winters. Depends what you call winter. Some people from Asia find summer months here winter. 21 C day time 5 at night time. Official months of Winter are Mid Dec to Mid March. It is about 5-8 C during the day and can be -2/3 at night.
It can be days that you do not see sun and just dark, cloudy , grey. But hey that is in summers too. Welcome to Holland !!

Please check that with respective airline. It differs from airline to airline. Some charge 5$ for extra kg and some 30$. Normally you are allowed to take 20-25 kg (Depending on airline) as checkin luggage and 5-10 kilos (Depending on airline) as handbaggage.

Irisunshine,

How do children react to winter?

Well MOST (not all!) children like winter very much if there is snow to play and slide in and ice to skate on. In most cities there is a skate rink from around Christmas to the end of January. Most children as well like the warm green pea soup that is served everywhere!
