Yes they resell them to people at a discount price vs the regular fare.
They are quite industrious these beggars, they also sell pot that is being thrown away schiphol

Schipol must be real rich picking I bet. I can just imagine all the people thinking they'll take stuff home to impress their mates but go chicken and ditch it last minute. Or the boys getting shredded by girlfriends and told to bin it or they are dumped when they get back home.

Crikey, you can't have been to London for the last few decades or more, they've been doing that for many, many years now. What they want is the travel cards that can be used again and again, providing it's within the dates/times/zones. I once gave mine to someone but you have to be very careful because you are being watched, either by CCTV or plain clothes security men. I discretely dropped mine on the floor...
