Hello
Apologies if this topic is already on the forum. I will be moving to Amsterdam at the end of this year from England and would very much like to hear from anyone who knows of English speaking baby/toddler (coffee mornings etc) groups in the De Pijp (or surrounding) area. It would be lovely to meet with other English speaking mothers (perhaps from England) (if the British Society is the best starting point, please advise). My daughter was born in June 2007. Also interested in activities for toddlers e.g. swimming lessons and etc. Thanks. P |

My kids are 8 now, so my info may be a little out of date. But there is/was an English children's/toddlers play-group that meets at the English Bookshop on the Lauriersgracht in the Jordaan. They meet weekly, if I remember rightly.
The other English language activities revolve around the British School of Amsterdam, they have a creche for kids from the age of three, and the parents of those kids get together and organize a variety of events and get-togethers. Other than that there is the Britsoc as you suggested, and also the American Women's Club - which may be worth checking out. There's a decent creche on the edge of the Pijp called De Gouden Koets, which is in the passageway attached to the Albert Heijn on the Stadhouderskade, and another one on the Prinsengracht called 'Villa Kakelbont'. That's all I know, sorry. -------------------- |

Thank you very much.
Does anyone know of any English speaking baby or infant swimming lessons, we found one in Amstelveen but wondered if anyone knew of any closer to De Pijp. Thanks |
