Hi all,
My husband and I just moved to Amsterdam from San Francisco and had a good experience with Marc Bergvelt at Amsterdam Beautiful. We called him on a Tuesday afternoon after another agency told us they had nothing for us, and Tuesday evening he e-mailed us several properties to look at. He took us to see them the next day and has been very responsive to e-mails and calls. Good luck with your search!

It makes me laugh what the rent prices are in Amsterdam these days, the city prices have become like London.
It's nasty greedy people who think they can 'get rich quick'

I'm looking to buy soon, for what a tiny loft studio apartment sells for in Amsterdam, one can easily get a 2-3 bedroom house with garden around Zaandam!

Do you really think that expats are so dumb and naive that we don't see though this totally fake post. You are not from San Francisco, you are in fact Marc Bergvelt who signed up and has (surprise) two posts on expatica, both extolling his sevices. YUCK

Never mind, he's just another fake & greedy Dutchie.

Why's it stupid?

I was actually refering to the mysterious 'Marc Bergvelt ' and not mkitchell.

I'm only stating what I believe to be true.

Illuminatus I am afraid you are wrong this time becoz this lorig indeed looks like a troll to me.
And mkitchell is not a dutchie....

It's too bad that what I thought would be a nice gesture to an agent who was good to us had to turn into something so negative. I'm sorry that everyone here is so cynical. We really did move here from San Francisco and we really did receive good service from Amsterdam Beautiful and Marc.

If you view the link below you'll see that I posted an ad on expatica for "housing wanted" back in May. In addition, you can see similar posts from me looking for housing on elynx.nl and craigslist. Still think I'm lying? I have also signed up for the expat groups on Yahoo and Meetup so maybe if I meet you at an event you can see that I do exist and you can retract the negative things you've said.

Well, that settles that then!
I've seen it before where people are just genuinely pleased with service they've received but get accused of spamming when it comes time to recommend it on Expatica. It's a pity, but with the amount of junk that gets posted here, some are quite cycnical now...

I am one to admit when I am wrong. I have seen such postings before but in your case I jumped the gun. I am very sorry.

Lorig, sorry for the mistake but your style indeed look like some kind of marketing advtz. Which we see here quite often, exaptica few months back was hub of such kinds of advtz and stories. And I have noticed recently that those fake ids and stories are not here any more. I think exaptica has placed some really good filtering to avoid spammers and junkies.
Sorry for being paranoid.

Cheers,

Thanks all. It's funny you said that what I wrote read like an advert as I work in the marketing profession and often write copy. I should have known better when posting to a board. Can I blame jet lag? :-) Next time I post my kudos to someone for good service I'll write a bit more carefully.
