I think that you may be able to do this (could be depending on the insurer though) but they will back-date this 'upgrade' in your coverage to 1 January and you will have to cover the extra cost of the monthly premiums from then til now.

Thanks anonymous. I haven't ask my insurance company to upgrade my health insurance level yet, since I don't like my phsiotherapist and won't get more treatment, at least, from her. I'm just wondering if, just if, someone is found to suffer certain chronic and permanent disease(not dying shortly), for example diabetes, what insurance company will deal with such client. Do they ask them pay more insurance for a particular treatment? Another scenario is to do with changing insurance company when carry a chronic disease. Will new insurance company accept one who has problem already. I'm asking this because people from my own country do not have obligatory health insurance, thus I don't know how insurance system works here. When my mother visited me here in NL, she was asked to buy a insurance when she landed in this country (nowadays, people from my land is asked to buy insurance from their own country, otherwise the visa is not going to be issued). She has diabetes and she was asked to clarify what disease she had in application form. The strange thing is that there is additional item to inform us that any problem related to previous disease will not be covered by the insurance. It’s a quite harsh regulation if consider of how broad range of problem a diabetic disease could relate to, for example heart disease. Such rule almost means that insurance covers nothing except accident! Does anyone have any chronic disease which covers all your routine treatment? |

Holland is really good in these objectives. Depending on your insurance company , you can get insured on a premium level from 1st of next month. Some allow only from the year. However, if you are cronically sick, they cannot raise the preimum specifically for you. They are obliged to cover you. In most cases they will pay all costs that are made. You will probably never see the bills. However, if your insurance company does not allow you to raise the premium. You will have to swallow the physiotheraphy costs. |
