When asked my docent about it, he was very confused (that didint surprise me) but i need to prepare meself accordingly. firstly you need to be clear on the structure of the exam system as i think you are confusing the NT2 (Nederlands als tweede taal) State exam with the level/niveau tests you do at the ROC. NT2 simply is the abbreviation. In the ROC you will sit exams for levels 1,2,3 and if you progess quickly, 4. In fact I thought they had replaced these level titles with the Eu standard A1, A2 etc. Anyway, level 1 is the first level, very basic, leel 4/5 is almost fluent, so level 3 is an intermediate level. The 'other' system of tests are the NT2 Statesexamen, of which you can take 2 levels Nt2-1 and NT2-2. NT2-1 is about the equivalent of the ROC's level 3 and NT2-2 is about the equivalent of level 4. If you wanted to study at a dutch university for example, you would need to have an NT2-2 certificate. Its confusing that they have these two separate measurements, and in my experience they never explained the system or what was expected of students during the inburgering course......and also many people seem to not realise that the term 'NT2' is simply an abbreviation for 'Nederlands als tweede taal' just like ESL is English as a second language, and doesnt relate to any particular level. Good luck with the exams! |
