Hello everyone!

I am just about to rent a house and i am asked to give a bank guarantee equal to 3months of rent. Since i just moved 5 weeks ago and inhabiting in a temporary place this one is one of the best choices i have at the moment.

What i am wondering is will i have to deposit that amount of money to the bank and actually pay them for the money to be untouchable? It sounds a little bit weird so i want to make it clear asking to people who might have had this kind of situtations. Yes i can deposit that amount i am asked for but still i would prefer not to stress myself about spending that amount of money all together if i am wrong on the subject.
