Hi,

I would need a good advice.
I have been offered a job in a Holland institution, but would need to be on a regular basis in its Belgium site as a “visitor”. My job is administrated by Holland, and I would need to pay taxes there.
Since, both my spouse and I are non-EU nationals, and would need to be located in Belgium:

What will be our status in Belgium?

Do we need to apply for a work permit in Belgium as well?

Do we need to apply for a residence card?

Would my spouse have the right to work in Belgium, what type of work permit will he be granted and where can he apply for it?

I would appreciate advice, experiences and links if you have to share with us.

If you are going to live in Brussels, you might want to check the Tax agreement Holland and Belgium have. That should make it possible to pay your tax to the country of your choice. Then again, this could be for EU citizens only.

I am not sure but try and contact the Brussels 'Dutch Organisation of the Permanent Representation'( http://www.mfa.nl/bre-uk/organisation )
. They might be able help you further.

I think I can beat that!

I am a NZ national, with an english partner and I am looking to continue working for a company in the UK and to relocate to Brugge (isn't it amazing?). Im only looking to do this for a year and intend to continue to pay taxes in UK. I have a long term work permit type visa for the UK.

I've looked on some websites, and it seems that I need to get a visa as a "person of independent means" that requires a letter of recommendation from a person residing in Belgium and also "Proof that you have ties with Belgium".

Has anyone ever come across this situation before or has any advice as to how I can obtain the above two items?

My information was obtained here http://www.vfs-be-uk.com/application.aspx#a

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

if you're non EU national, you can't live in one EU coutry and work in another one.
To apply for the residence permit, you need that country's work permit.
