Just a reminder for all pregnant ladies:
at present there is a shortage of post-natal home-care.
here in the greater Eindhoven area, it has become extreme, from now until september.
there are even ladies who are not getting the minimum requirement by law! 24 hours over 8 days.
PLEASE make sure you get your request in asap.
as soon as you are 12 weeks, or even less down here, sign up for care....I would not wait until 20 weeks.
any post-natal doulas wanting work, can contact me, as I am trying to get some help, for 4 ladies who are getting no help. greater Eindhoven area.
there are many reasons why. the amount of care has been increased from to 44 to 49 hours. 5 hours extra BUT the amount of care-givers has not! also some say a baby-boom is on the go and if you are delivering in the holiday periods, you may have a problem. blink.gif

Hello,
I am currenty 19 weeks, we signed up through our insurance company online (have heard nothing back as of yet) We did this about two weeks ago. Should I contact my insurance company? What can I do to make sure I get help after my baby is born?

it's july and august that are bad months.
according to the laws, you should get 24hours minimum BUT at present there is a list of ladies getting NOTHING down here in greater Eindhoven area.
until now, most I have managed to sort something out for. some have been granted an amount to buy in their own care and others are flying out family memebrs etc.
so if you will deliver next june, july august, book in as soon as you know you are preggy!
if booked in already, make sure you get a letter saying how many hours you are being guaranteed!
if you get no guarantee on paper for the minimum, fight for the lump sum pay out!

Do you have a midwife yet? If so, ask them for advice - my midwife gave me several pamphlets for different kraamzorg companies, told me a little bit about each and what I would need to do to sign up, and then left the choice up to me. If I remember correctly, you will need to get in contact with both the kraamzorg company and your insurance company, to make sure it's all arranged.

Hope this helps! Sorry I can't be more specific. My brain has turned to cottonwool since I became a mummeigh biggrin.gif
